New Realities Wettbewerb 2024: Wir suchen innovative XR-Ideen!

Unter der Schirmherrschaft von Bayerns Staatsminister für Digitales Dr. Fabian Mehring geht der New Realities Wettbewerb in die nächste Runde: 2024 suchen wir, der XR HUB Bavaria, und 1E9 wieder innovative Ideen, Projekte, Konzepte und Produkte, die mit XR-Technologien die Welt besser machen. Ein besonderer Fokus liegt diesmal auf den Themen Mixed Reality und Bildung.

Egal, ob ihr noch studiert, ein Start-up seid, mit Kunst und Kultur euer Geld verdient, an XR forscht oder in einem Industriekonzern arbeitet: Ihr alle könnt euch bewerben! Die einzige Voraussetzung: Ihr habt eine Idee, wie die Welt mit XR noch besser und spannender werden kann. Vom Konzept, das bisher nur in eurem Kopf existiert bis zum fertigen Produkt darf alles dabei sein.

Grundsätzlich freut sich die Jury über alle Ideen, die diese Kriterien erfüllen. Doch angesichts der verbesserten MR-Fähigkeiten neuer XR-Headsets könnten Mixed-Reality-Projekte dieses Jahr besonders interessant sein. Und auch XR-Lösungen, die in der Bildung zum Einsatz kommen, sind sehr gerne gesehen.

Deshalb lohnt es sich, ein Projekt einzureichen:

Aus allen Bewerbungen, die bis zum 30. April 2024 eingehen, wählen die XR-Expertinnen und Experten vom XR HUB Bavaria und 1E9 die vielversprechendsten Ideen aus. Diese werden dann nicht nur in Artikeln in unserem digitalen 1E9-Magazin oder unserem New Realities Podcast vorgestellt.

Die Einreichenden bekommen damit auch die Gelegenheit, ihr Projekt beim großen Finale des Wettbewerbs zu präsentieren. Das findet Ende Juni beim großen Festival der Zukunft von 1E9 und Deutschem Museum statt – vor einer Fachjury und vor hunderten Besucherinnen und Besuchern.

Euer Publikum wird aus einem Querschnitt der ganzen Tech-Community bestehen – Leute aus Start-ups und Konzernen, aus Hochschulen und Schulen, aus Investmentfonds und der Kreativbranche, aus Politik, Medien und Forschung. Dazu kommen viele XR-Begeisterte und Neugierige.

Damit ihr die Bühne rockt, bekommt ihr vorher von uns ein ausführliches Briefing. Das beste Projekt wird dann von unserer Fachjury ausgewählt. Für das Gewinnerteam gibt’s dann ein Preisgeld von 1.000 Euro.

So bewerbt ihr euch:

Schickt ganz einfach bis zum 30. April 2024 eine E-Mail an new.realities@1e9.community, die folgendes enthält: eure/n Namen, eine persönliche Vorstellung und eine überzeugende Beschreibung eurer Idee – bestehend aus einem Text, der nicht viel länger als 500 Wörter sein sollte.

Wenn ihr zusätzlich Skizzen, Videos (bitte mit Download-Link, falls sie zu groß sind) oder Fotos habt, die der Jury dabei helfen, das Konzept, den Prototypen oder das Produkt noch besser zu verstehen, schickt sie gleich mit.

New Realities Competition 2024: We are looking for innovative XR ideas!

Under the patronage of Bavaria’s Minister of State for Digital Affairs Dr. Fabian Mehring, the New Realities competition is entering the next round: In 2024, XR HUB Bavaria and 1E9 are once again looking for innovative ideas, projects, concepts and products that make the world a better place with XR technologies. This time, the focus will be on mixed reality and education.

No matter whether you are still studying, a start-up, earn your money with art and culture, are researching XR or work in an industrial group: You can apply! The only requirement is that you have an idea of how XR can make the world even better and more exciting. It can be anything from a concept that only exists in your head to a finished product.

In principle, the jury welcomes all ideas that meet these criteria. However, given the improved MR capabilities of new XR headsets, mixed reality projects could be particularly interesting this year. And XR solutions that are used in education are also very welcome.

That’s why it’s worth submitting a project:

The XR experts from XR HUB Bavaria and 1E9 will select the most promising ideas from all applications received by April 30, 2024. These will then not only be presented in articles in our digital 1E9 magazine or our New Realities podcast.

This also gives the entrants the opportunity to present their project at the competition’s grand finale. This will take place at the end of June at the big Festival der Zukunft by 1E9 and Deutsches Museum – in front of a panel of experts and hundreds of visitors.

Your audience will consist of a cross-section of the entire tech community – people from start-ups and corporations, from universities and schools, from investment funds and the creative industry, from politics, media and research. There will also be many XR enthusiasts and curious people.

To make sure you rock the stage, you will receive a detailed briefing from us beforehand. The best project will then be selected by our expert jury. The winning team will then receive prize money of 1,000 euros.

Simply send an e-mail to new.realities@1e9.community by April 30, 2024 containing the following: your name(s), a personal introduction and a convincing description of your idea – consisting of a text that should not be much longer than 500 words.

If you have additional sketches, videos (please include a download link if they are too large) or photos that will help the jury to better understand the concept, prototype or product, please send them along.
