Vortrag in englischer Sprache

As part of the Muffathalle’s 10.9 world premiere presentation of the Russian Futurist poet Velimir Khlebnikov’s 1922 experimental play Zangezi, XR HUB Bavaria invites Zangezi director Chris Salter to give a lecture/demo master class on XR for the stage, focusing on new artistic-technological practices in XR-related performance practice.

Salter, who is Professor and Director of the Immersive Arts Space, a unique lab based at the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK), is internationally recognized as an expert in the field of new technologies within live performance.

In this lecture/demo, Salter will discuss the development of the two year in development Zangezi project. Zangezi bringgs together a diverse group of internationally renowned artists from the fields of music, visual arts, AI, Performance und Technologie to create a spectacular multimedia event.
The project integrates multiple techniques of virtual production using game engines and various AI techniques into live performance. Salter will give an insider’s perspective from the development process into the various iterations of the project and discuss the conceptual, dramaturgical, artistic and technological approaches for successfully integrating XR-related strategies into live performance.
